Chair Reupholstery - Unfinished - Back of the chair - At this point, I realized the design of the back of the chair became too busy and needed a design reevaluation.

Chair Reupholstery - Unfinished - Fixed arms reattached with Gorilla Glue and JB Weld Epoxy. Clamped and set overnight.

Chair Reupholstery - Unfinished - Arms removed and sanded. Dowels replaced on the back and base of the arms.

Chair Reupholstery - Unfinished - Examination of chair structure. The foam seat and cotton batting was moldy and disintegrating. The right arm of the chair was coming loose from the base, and the left arm was coming loose from the back.

Chair Reupholstery - Unfinished - Back of the chair - "Shell" construction. 3 different fabrics were used to construct the pieces. The red velvet proved to be particularly tough to sew through, but was still able to be used as originally planned.

Chair Reupholstery - Unfinished - Back of the chair - "Shell" mock up construction #3. Shells sewn into bags and stuffed with batting, then sewn onto the back fabric. With practice, this solution was the most successful.

This mock up did not solve the curve problem. The back fabric did not cover the foam of the cushion, and was not a quick solution either.
